I had my first meal at this spot today and it definitely won’t be the last. I alway want places that put out great products to be successful and they deserve for folks to try their sushi. Soooo good. If you Love sushi like I do they won’t disappoint.

We were upset when Sushi Azuki left Ottawa street, but we have been quite happy with Sakumi Shushi. We ordered for the second time this past weekend and I would say the food improved from our first visit (may have been supplier related). They also put the tables back that Azuki had, which is great, as we used to enjoy eating in on occasion. I think it's also good that they took down all the posters covering their windows. The place looks bright and inviting. Keep up the good work Sakumi and we will continue to order! I recommend to try this restaurant.

On a whim, and needing lunch, we decided to try this new sushi place for takeout. We ordered the orange dragon roll (it was on special, 2 for $15) as well as the crispy spicy salmon roll and avocado kamakachi roll. I don't know what they are doing differently but the flavour is INCREDIBLE. Somehow, the sushi has a ton of umami. It's so good I was wondering if the new meds I'm taking for my back were the reason I was having a mind blowing flavour experience but my husband confirmed this sushi was better than what we normally would get. Neither one of us can put a finger on the actual difference, kind of almost a roasted/smokey flavour maybe. But it was most pronounced in the avocado kamakachi roll and my husband and I both deemed that one the best one. Do not sleep on this place. And try the avocado kamakachi roll.
